What Memorial Ataşehir is
Memorial Ataşehir is a general hospital with 144 beds on a 22,000 m² campus at Küçükbakkalköy Mah. Kubilay Sok. No: 1/2-4 on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. It opened in 2010 and describes itself as serving every branch of medicine, around the clock, with coronary, general, cardiovascular-surgery and neonatal intensive care on site.
The hospital puts cardiovascular surgery, organ transplantation (liver and kidney), medical oncology, da Vinci robotic surgery and IVF first. Its department list also includes Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, a Breast Health Center and Hair Transplantation.
The group behind it, and how it counts itself
Memorial Ataşehir belongs to the Memorial Hospitals Group, which says it admitted its first patient in February 2000 and describes itself as the first hospital in Türkiye to receive a JCI accreditation certificate (the group's own statement; we have not checked it).
The group's own pages do not agree on its size. One describes 12 hospitals; another describes 11 hospitals, 2 medical centres and 1 wellness centre. Reach is given as 167 countries on one page and 92 countries on another. The group also states 75,000 international patients a year and more than 1,510 beds. We show both versions rather than choose one.
Accreditation is stated building by building, and Ataşehir is not listed
On its corporate presentation page the group names JCI for four buildings: Şişli, Ankara, Bahçelievler and Medstar Antalya. Memorial Ataşehir is not on that list. ISO 15189 is named for Şişli, and LEED Platinum for Bahçelievler.
Do not read the group's JCI statements as covering this hospital. Check the JCI public register for Memorial Ataşehir by name and ask the hospital for a current certificate.
International patients service
The group runs Memorial International Patient Center (MIPC), reached on +90 549 639 3366, with an office at Istanbul Airport and a UK office at 9 Queen Square, Leeds LS2 8AJ.
The coordinator languages the group lists do not include German or Dutch. If you need either, ask in writing whether a coordinator who speaks it exists before you book.

Editorial position. Some providers pay for partner services such as enhanced profiles and programme pages. These carry the Partner label. When a patient we introduced goes ahead with treatment, the provider pays us a fee. It never changes your price: providers agree to offer you the same price as their own direct channels. Payment cannot buy coverage, a better assessment or a place in a recommendation. Memorial Ataşehir did not review this page. This page is not a substitute for a clinical consultation.
