Dental treatment in Türkiye

Dental treatment in Türkiye is usually planned across two trips — assessment, imaging and preparation on the first, fitting on the second — and the decision that matters most is not the price but who is accountable for the work once you have flown home.

Planning dental treatment between 50 and 75

After fifty, a dental plan is rarely about one tooth. Bone density, existing bridgework, gum condition and any medication that affects healing all shape what is actually possible, and a plan drawn without a current CBCT scan and a medical history is a quotation rather than a plan. Ask for the scan to be read before you book flights, not after you land.

Timing is the part most often underestimated. Implants need an integration period between placement and loading, and that period is measured in months, not days. A single trip that promises placement and final crowns inside a week is describing a different procedure from the one most people over fifty need — and it is worth understanding exactly which one is being offered.

Plan the return leg as carefully as the outward one. Swelling peaks a day or two after surgery, cabin pressure is uncomfortable during that window, and a follow-up appointment before departure is worth more than an extra day of sightseeing. If you take anticoagulants, bisphosphonates or immunosuppressants, that conversation belongs with your own doctor before you commit to dates.

What to establish before you decide

Who reads the scan, and when

A treatment plan should follow a CBCT scan and a written medical history, and should name the clinician who read them. A quotation issued from photographs alone tells you about the clinic's sales process, not about your mouth.

The materials, by brand

Implant systems and crown materials should be named in writing before you agree to anything. Named systems have published documentation and are serviceable by other dentists; unnamed ones may not be, which becomes your problem years later at home.

What the guarantee actually covers

Ask whether a guarantee covers the material only or also the labour to replace it, whether it requires you to return to Türkiye, and who pays the flights if it does. A guarantee that cannot be exercised from your own country is a marketing document.

Aftercare your own dentist can pick up

You will be treated at home, not in Türkiye, if something goes wrong at month eight. Ask what records you leave with: scans, the treatment plan, the implant passport or equivalent, and notes in a language your own dentist reads.

How many trips, and how far apart

Get the number of trips and the gap between them in writing before booking. This single answer changes the real cost of treatment more than any per-tooth price does.

05What exactly does the guarantee cover, for how long, and does exercising it require me to travel back?
06What records and documentation will I leave with, and in which language?
07Who do I contact, and how, if there is a problem three months after I return?
08Under what circumstances would you decline to treat a patient with my medical history?
