The first question to ask any hair clinic. The IAHRS profile says the surgical practice is focused on FUE and planning is physician-led; it does not say who performs each step.

In hair restoration, who performs each step matters more than the technique's name. This is what the clinic states; ask for it in writing.

In brief

A hair restoration clinic whose founder, Dr. Koray Erdoğan, appears on the IAHRS register. His profile says ASMED performs manual FUE and that final candidacy and surgical planning remain physician-led. The clinic's own site returned an access error, so who performs each step, the health-tourism authorisation and the figures are not yet read.

The clinic

The clinic and its approach

Dr. Koray Erdoğan is listed on the IAHRS register as founder and medical director of ASMED Surgical Medical Center. The profile says he graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1994, entered hair restoration in 2000 and founded ASMED in 2001, and began performing FUE in 2004.

It says ASMED performs manual FUE, including shaved and long-hair procedures, and that technology supports measurement while final candidacy and surgical planning remain physician-led decisions. It describes a Sequential Technique for manual FUE developed by Dr. Erdoğan.

The clinic's own website at hairtransplantfue.org returned HTTP 403 to our automated request. We did not work around that. Its pages are therefore not read, and everything below that depends on them is marked to confirm.

Before you book

Questions to ask

  1. Who performs extraction and implantation?

By name and role, for each step, in writing.

  2. How many grafts, and how was the number decided?

Ask how your donor supply and the area to cover were measured.

  3. How is your donor area assessed and protected?

And what limit they set to avoid overharvesting it.

  4. What is the plan for future hair loss?

Hair you have now may thin later; ask how the design allows for it.

  5. What density is realistic for you?

For your hair type and pattern, not in general.

  6. What happens if the result is poor?

Whether a second session is offered, and on what terms.

  7. What follow-up do you get after flying home?

Who you contact, how often, and for how long.

  8. Can they show results for patients with a similar pattern?

In consultation, with consent, at the same stage after surgery.
