He remained on the Ankara University surgical staff as a specialist, and learned laparoscopic gallbladder, hernia and stomach surgery there under named senior surgeons. He describes a visit to the Medical University of South Carolina focused on reflux surgery, and visiting-faculty positions in the clinics of Dr. Karl Miller (Salzburg), Dr. Raul Rosenthal (Cleveland) and Dr. Jacques Himpens (Genk). He retired from Ankara University in 2012 and opened his own clinic. The biography gives no dates for the visits, and no degree years.
