Who performs hair transplants at Istanbul clinics?

The short answer

Clinics describe their operating model in two ways: the named surgeon carries out the key steps, or a team shares them, with the surgeon supervising. Both are common, and neither is wrong. Read what the clinic's own site says about each step, and ask in writing who extracts and who implants.[1]

Why it matters who performs each step

Ask which parts of the procedure the surgeon performs personally — extraction, incision, implantation — and which are carried out by technicians. Technician-assisted work is common and not inherently wrong; being unable to get a straight answer about it is.

A hair transplant has distinct steps: planning and hairline design, graft extraction, creating the recipient sites, and implantation. A clinic can name a surgeon for the whole procedure or for some steps only.[1]

What to ask a clinic in writing

Put these questions to any clinic, and keep the written answers.

  1. Which parts of the procedure will the surgeon perform personally, and which will technicians perform?
  2. What is the surgeon's name and where is their specialty registration held?
  3. How many grafts do you estimate for my case, and on what examination is that estimate based?

The full list of eight is in the hair transplant guide.

How we compiled this

Each row comes from the clinic's own pages, read between 14 October 2026 and 14 October 2026. The quote is the clinic's wording, with the page it comes from. The model column states what those pages say: surgeon-led where they say the named surgeon carries out the steps, team-led where they describe a team sharing them, not stated where they say neither. Where we could not read a statement, the cell says so. The list is not a ranking and carries no assessment.
